Las Ventanas Offer Spa-Goers
A Multi-Sensory Experience

As I’ve mentioned before, my favorite resort in Mexico is Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort in Los Cabos. In addition to my fond memories of the beautiful private suite, the crystal blue water, the expansive beach, and the delicious cuisine, I especially remember my overall feelings of contentment and relaxation during my visit…as if I didn’t have a care in the world. Now guests have one more experience that will help them feel that way with the introduction of the Spa Pod, a multi-sensory self-contained hydrothermal spa capsule that combines steam, water therapy, and infrared heat. The benefits include an increase in basal metabolic rate, a cleansing of unwanted toxins and impurities in the body, relief of muscle aches and fatigue, and even weight loss because it eliminates excess fluid and alleviates bloating. Guests can choose to add this unique component to one of the spa’s popular treatments, choose from one of the packages that has been created involving the pods, or simply use the pod on its own for total relaxation. Says spa manager Irena Ugalde, “The depth and intensity of the benefits go far beyond what is achieved with typical spa treatments. They are ‘reawakening experiences’ for the guest.” And I thought paradise couldn’t get any better.

The Spa at Las Ventanas Gets Personal

Mexico has always been one of my favorite destinations, and a few years ago I had the opportunity to visit the amazing Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort in Los Cabos. Like the entire resort, The Spa at Las Ventanas is second-to-none when it comes to the level of personalized service. Recently, with the addition of a Music Menu and an Incense Menu, guests can fully immerse themselves in a customized sensory experience.

The Music Menu offers five categories for spa-goers to choose from, including Gregorian Chants, Sounds of Mother Earth, Celtic Music, House Music, and Ancestral Music. For each category, the menu offers treatment recommendations that work best with that particular music choice. For example, guests who choose Ancestral Music will experience an awakening of emotions that unite them with their ancestors, which would be ideal for treatments based on ancient practices such as the Spiritual Chilam Ritual.

Because the spa’s treatment menu offers services based on one of the four elements of earth, air, fire, and water, the Incense Menu offers guests an ideal way to engage their olfactory senses to complement their chosen treatment. For example, the Earth Element Incense choices include sandalwood and copal scents, while that Air Element Incense options are eucalyptus and lavender. With these two new menu options, guests can engage all of their senses while experiencing a bit of Mexican magic.

Los Cabos Encourages South of the Border Spa-ing

Whenever I’m asked to suggest a great place to visit for a relaxing vacation that includes sun, sand, and spa (which happens quite often, given my profession), I immediately say Los Cabos, Mexico. Because it is my own personal paradise, I can’t help but boast about the wonderful culture, the hospitality of the locals, the abundance of amazing resorts, and, of course, the rapidly expanding spa scene. Unfortunately, 2009 hasn’t been a good year for tourism in Mexico, due mostly to the H1N1 outbreak and the dismal state of the economy. With that in mind, many resorts are offering unbeatable deals to entice visitors to see for themselves why Los Cabos is one of the best relaxation destinations. Here is just a sampling of some irresistible packages currently being offered:

Cabo Spa at Esperanza Resort is offering the Aroma and Essence package. Starting at $3,796 based on double occupancy, this four-night deal includes a private transfer from the airport, an Oceanview Casita, daily breakfast for two, a 90-minute treatment of the client’s choosing, and two 60-minute massages per person.

The Spa at Las Ventanas Al Paraíso’s pampering Soul & Spirit four-night package includes more than eight hours worth of spa treatments per person. Spa-goers can choose from an array of relaxing services to restore their minds and spirits, including the Sea & Star Massage, the Ultimate Facial, and the Herbal Healer Massage. Starting at $7,851 for two, guests also receive daily breakfast and dinner, as well as a healthy spa departure meal that can be eaten on the plane.

The Spa at Marquis Los Cabos tempts spa-goers with the Sense of Pampering package. Starting at $460 per person per night with a minimum stay of five nights, guests will enjoy two massages per day, a manicure and pedicure, a private health consultation with a spa specialist, and a $50 credit per person per day for any additional spa treatments of their choice. Daily breakfast, three lunches, and a romantic dinner for two are also included.
