Murad’s University for Inclusive Health (UIH) partnered with Bellus Academy in San Diego to inspire and teach current and aspiring professionals in the esthetic, medical, and wellness areas. In October, Bellus Academy will begin offering the UIH course program to current students and alumni who want to take learning to the next level. The course outline and content has been developed by Howard Murad, M.D., FAAD, the founder of UIH and Murad, to educate students on external, internal, and emotional self-care theories based on Dr. Murad’s philosophy of Inclusive Health. Students who complete the course will receive a certificate that identifies them as an Inclusive Health Ambassador, which is considered an elite group in the world of wellness. “The Inclusive Health program at the Bellus Academy provides the latest in educational innovations for the wellness field,” says Lynelle Lynch, president of Bellus Academy. “The Inclusive Health program elevates the services spa professionals can offer their clients, significantly improving overall wellness for all, and continuing to build on Bellus’ tradition of excellence.” To apply, contact email@example.com or visit www.bellusacademy.edu/w_university-of-inclusive-health.aspx .

I’m not one to shy away from giving my two-cents worth. That’s why I couldn’t help but like the way Affinia Hotels went about choosing its new spa product line. The boutique hotel brand relied on its guests to test a variety of spa products over the summer and then selected a retail spa partner based on guest feedback. The clear winner turned out to be Philosophy, which guests singled out for brand recognition, the ability to purchase the product in stores, and the whimsical messages on each bottle. Philosophy’s Lime Blossom shampoo, Blackberry Musk conditioner, Green Tea lotion, and Lime Blossom facial bar will be available in all rooms at Affinia Hotels in New York City, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Soliciting guests to test the products is part of a newly launched comfort movement at Affinia Hotels. A key part of the hotels’ messaging and programming, Comfort by Design features platforms such as My Affinia, where guests can customize their stay with a variety of options ranging from a six-choice pillow menu to Experience Kits to explore each city. The hotel brand is now asking guests for feedback on what makes them comfortable and actually using that info to shape its offerings.

The new Birds of a Feather collection, full of iridescent shades, draws its inspiration from this colorful and vibrant species. With hues ranging from deep purple flecked with fuchsia, to shimmering natural beige, the new lacquers are sure to add glamour to any look.
In recognition of World Arthritis Day, which is on October 12, Massage Envy will join together to fight against this chronic and debilitating disease. Each of the 700 Massage Envy clinics across America will partner with the Arthritis Foundation to host Healing Hands for Arthritis, a one-day national event dedicated to building awareness and raising funds for the disease. For every one-hour massage and facial purchased, $10 will be donated to the Arthritis Foundation, an organization whose mission is preventing, controlling, and curing arthritis. Additionally, Murad, Massage Envy’s skincare partner, and Wyndere, Massage Envy’s retail partner, will donate 10 percent of all sales on this day to the cause. “At Massage Envy, we witness the debilitating effects that arthritis can have on our members and guests every day and recognize that more must be done to help raise awareness and find a cure for the 50 million adults and 300,000 children currently suffering,” says David Crisalli, president and COO of Massage Envy. “I encourage everyone to participate in Healing Hands for Arthritis by calling their local Massage Envy today and booking an appointment for this wonderful event.”
