Not surprisingly, people are always asking me about spa trends. However, because I’ve been covering the industry for so long now, I’m sometimes at a loss to point out anything truly new. That’s why I’m always interested to learn what other industry insiders think. Recently, the folks at Spa Week released their top 10 spa treatment trends for fall 2011. See if you agree…
1. Shirodhara
2. Bamboo Massage
3. Cupping/Gua Sha
4. Acupressure
5. Boozing with Benefits (treatments that incorporate alcohol)
6. Shellac Attack
7. Men’s Treatments
8. Mobile Spas
9. Deep Sea Spa-ing (water-based treatments such as Watsu)
10. Spa with a Conscience (eco-friendly treatments)
What trends would you add to or eliminate from this list?

I agree! We at Suite Spa are seeing a surge of interest in our patent pending cart system for high end environments wishing to add spa to their ammenities without sacrificing the experience of treatments. Here are some areas of growth we are sewing theses happening; hotels, hospitals, high end retirement villages, live, work, play condos. Will we see cruise ships next? Stay tuned!
Would rather see Gelish featured it is superior and has many more color choices to offer as well
We can’t go into the fall season without doing our Pumpkin Spice Pedicure using pumpkin scrub we make ourselves!
And, of course, as the rest of our menu reflects, we add in elements that warm the guest.
Love fall!!!!
We’re honored that for the number one treatment, the Shirodhara, Spa Week (or you?) used a picture from our Spa, Surya Spa! The Shirodhara is not only deeply soothing, but tremendously healing, on the level of your whole nervous system. We look forward to helping your readers one day, if they’re in Los Angeles. Thanks again — Roger / suryaspa.com
