Last week while perusing Facebook, I came across one of my good friend’s status, which read, “Looking forward to seeing all my friends during my upcoming visit to NYC!” I had no idea she was going to be in town! When I called her later that night to scold her, she said she was having a busy week and didn’t have time to call all of her friends individually, so it was easier to post on Facebook. This lack of interaction is the premise behind the new Wine Country Slumber Party–Unplugged being offered at Harvest Inn in St. Helena, CA. Created to get the girls together for a gadget-free retreat, the weekend begins at check-in, when friends surrender their gadgets and digital devices, which are then stored in a safety box. Next, guests enjoy real face-to-face catch-up time during a private one-hour reception featuring local wines and cheeses. More quality time is spent during a private five-hour wine country tour and tastings, as well as a private picnic lunch at a vineyard. Day two includes a 60-minute massage either in the resort’s therapy room or in an outdoor cabana. And finally, what girls’ getaway would be complete without some shopping at the boutiques on Main Street. Starting at $1,999 for two nights, the package also includes daily breakfast, a bottle of sparkling wine, on-site parking, and access to the fitness center. For more information, click here.
You don’t have to be a fan of football to enjoy the new Fall Into Football menu debuting at The Ritz Carlton Spa, Denver. The specially priced seasonal menu hikes into town Sept. 1-Dec. 31. The playful menu includes the First Down Facial ($115, 50 minutes), a signature facial with autumn-inspired ingredients; the Heisman Hops and Honey Pedicure ($125, 75 minutes), a one-of-a-kind pedi incorporating real hops; the Touchdown Thai Massage ($165, 75 minutes), a traditional Thai massage; and the Quarterback Sneak ($165, 75 minutes), a sampler package that involves a 25-minute massage, a 25-minute facial, and a 25-minute manicure. Any one of the the treatments are sure to leave guests ready to tackle whatever comes their way.
Mercury has entered Virgo’s zodiac sign, and its influence may make them a little scattered. Sleep may not come easily, and their minds may be mulling different options over again. Encourage them to give themselves a break, maybe with a nice deep tissue massage.
