Three New Board Members Join Green Spa Network

The Green Spa Network, a five-year-old association of spas, wellness resorts, and spa leaders dedicated to embracing and promoting the connection among personal well-being, economic sustainability, and environmentalism, will now benefit from the expertise of the following new board members:

Darren Hickman is the president of Szep Elet, the exclusive distributor of ilike organic skin care and Puree Spa Organics. Hickman is also part owner and director of Engeenuity, a company developing all-natural antibacterial and preservation technologies for the water and food industries.

Kim Marshall is owner of The Marshall Plan, a dynamic public relations and branding firm established in 1995 in Los Angeles. It was the first in the U.S. to specialize in spas. Today, the firm’s clients include brand leaders in the areas of lifestyle, hospitality, and wellness industries.

Rianna Riego is the principal and founder of Global SpaVantage, which is poised to be a primary resource in the spa industry by providing leadership for day spas, resort spa, medical spas, wellness centers, and resource partners to help manage and grow their businesses.

These three new members join GSN president Roberto Arjona, general manager and CEO of Rancho La Puerto (Tecate, Mexico); Jim Chenevey, co-owner and CEO of Earthlite and Living Earth Crafts; Cici Coffee, founder of Natural Body Spa & Shop (Atlanta); Lara Davidson, spa director at The Spa at Pebble Beach; Tara Grodjesk, founder and president of Tara Spa Therapy; and GSN founding board member Michael Stusser, founder of Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary (Freestone, CA). Together, they will work to provide access to a community of spas and resources that is committed to sustainability, offer a Greening Toolkit as a first step to greening a spa’s operations, provide access to advisory forums on green design and development, and more. What is your spa doing to become more green?
