To commemorate 90 years of sustainability and reaffirm its commitment to corporate social responsibility and giving back, Weleda announced its support of Conservation International, a nonprofit organization that works to protect the vital relationship between humanity and the natural world. The company is donating $25,000 to the organization this year. “While minimizing ecological impact is now a priority for many companies, Weleda has actively contributed to our planet’s health for 90 years,” says Jasper Van Brakel, CEO of Weleda North America. “Minimizing is not enough. At Weleda, we support nature by giving back more than we take, through our method of farming and through our fair trade projects around the globe. We believe that nature truly has what our skin and bodies need to be healthy. That’s why we are proud to support an organization that is working to keep nature healthy for the well-being of all of humanity.”
When it comes to spa treatments, my father refuses to partake. In fact, when I first started at American Spa, he thought I was working at a magazine about outdoor pools. Needless to say, no matter how enticing the services or how many times I have offered to treat him, he refuses to do it. After reading about a cool new men’s service at Qua Baths & Spa at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, I’m thinking that maybe he should consider changing his mind. The Emperor Treatment ($210, 75 minutes) is a royally indulgent body scrub, massage, and facial designed to treat dad like the king he is that has debuted at the spa just in time for Father’s Day. It begins with an invigorating scrub using espresso and lemon oil to smooth away impurities and awaken the senses, followed by a luxurious Shea butter and jasmine massage and body wrap. It then involves a full facial cleansing, exfoliation, massage and mask application, a soothing scalp massage, and a hydrating moisturizer application.
“The Emperor Treatment has been created especially for a man’s physique and sensibilities, designed to soothe aching muscles and aid in overall increased circulation,” says Shannon Stringert, manager of Qua Baths & Spa. “Exotic oils containing uplifting powers of mint, rosemary and citrus are fused with antioxidant-rich coffee beans to improve micro-cellular circulation.”
Sounds like heaven to me. Now it’s just time to convince my dad. What are you doing at your spa this Father’s Day? Share your ideas here.
