Las Ventanas al Paraiso Introduces
An Exclusive Book Club

Having spent more than a decade working in publishing, I’ve acquired a fair number of writer friends who often give me a sneak peak at their works in progress. Now, thanks to a new program at Las Ventanas al Paraiso, A Rosewood Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, guests can get their hands on advance copies of novels by best-selling authors. The “Hot Type” program is made possible through an exclusive arrangement with top publishing houses. Between six weeks to six months from being released for sale, the Hot Type books can be read poolside, the perfect way to relax after a treatment at The Spa at Las Ventanas. The following advance novels are currently available:

The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh

Becoming Marie Antoinette by Juliet Grey

The Autobiography of Mrs. Tom Thumb by Melanie Benjamin

The Stranger You Seek by Amanda Kyle Williams

A Year and Six Seconds by Isabel Gillies

In Bed with a Highlander by Maya Banks

The Wild Rose by Jennifer Donnelly

Although I am usually a beachy-type of girl, I have a special place in my heart for Santa Fe, NM. I always try shake up my gym routine by trying new classes. Recently, I heard about the Latin-inspired dance craze called Zumba and I just had to participate! Although I definitely need to work on my coordination, the class was fun, exhilarating and a really good workout to boot. The gym is a definitive part of my schedule, but I sometimes dream that my fitness routine would include a beach on an exotic island and not an overcrowded classroom where I have to fight for a space. Ritz Palm Beach Treats Guests to Pina Colada Pedis

In the summertime, I love to be outdoors. Whether I am at the beach, a barbeque, or the park, I love to enjoy some rays, preferably with a frosty drink in hand. All winter long I dream of sundresses and open-toed shoes. When the warm season finally arrives, it is a must to have freshly pedicured feet that are ready to be exposed. In an ode to the season, Eau Spa at The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach (FL) is offering its Pure Fiji Pina Colada Pedicure ($75, 50 minutes), which is sure to satisfy guests with a double dose of indulgence. This exotic pedicure gently exfoliates the feet by combining coconut and organic sugar cane scrub infused with exotic nut oils from Fiji. After exfoliation, warm oils are applied to the lower legs to massage tired muscles, leaving guests feeling totally relaxed. The pedicure is then completed with the application of one of a wide range of nail colors, as well as a complimentary pina colada. Guests will leave feeling like they were just swept away to a tropical island.
