Feet can certainly take a beating when they’re subjected to ill-fitting shoes, high heels, and everyday wear and tear. Fortunately, the folks at Canyon Ranch and foot expert, Glenn Copeland, D.P.M., are on the case with the recent introduction of Canyon Ranch Healthy Feet at Canyon Ranch SpaClub in The Venetian (Las Vegas). The center provides therapeutic services to relieve discomfort caused in the feet and lower legs. Biomechanics specialists and massage therapists are trained to address and treat foot issues with a variety of techniques and products. Those suffering from chronic issues, such as shin splints or strain, will find the center especially helpful with services like All-Star Treatment for Athletes, Healthy in Heels, Foot Doctor Express, and Instant Relief. I’m actually interested in having my gait analyzed by a trained clinician to assess any issues due to bad posture, body mechanics, and my choice of footwear. It might just be enough to persuade me to forego fashion for function. Then again, I wouldn’t be so sure…
Today marks the 12th consecutive rainy day in New York City, which has put almost everyone here in a grumpy mood. Luckily, though, it is supposed to clear up by the holiday weekend, and Al Roker is claiming we will see temperatures hitting 80 F and sunny skies. I am really counting on that, as I plan to spend a few days at the beach. Almost nothing can turn my frown around faster than basking in the warm sun, feeling sand under my feet, and listening to the ocean. The one thing that has the ability to interfere with a perfect day down the shore, however, is the pesky little gnats and mosquitoes that seem to be especially attracted to me. Like most people, it makes me nervous to use most bug sprays because of the chemicals, and I usually just end up with itchy welts all over my body. So, I was excited to learn about the Organic Aromatherapy Urgent Care Tea Tree Blemish Stick from Bath By Bettijo. Although it is not a bug deterrent, this pocket-sized roll-on can come in handy after-the-fact, as it was designed to provide quick relief from bug bites, cold sores, acne, and minor cuts and burns. It contains a combination of skin-healing organic ingredients, including Tea Tree oil, to knock out bacteria, soothe the skin, and promote healing. Hopefully, I won’t need to even use it in the first place, but if I do, I’ll keep you posted on its effectiveness.
Among the innovative new products making their debut this year will be the EVOLV Sidekick. Developed by Sunless Inc., it is the first heated sunless airbrushing system, and it delivers a specially formulated, vitamin-enriched, and fully customizable tanning experience.
The EVOLV sunless experience takes only minutes and begins with a warm flow of heat that gently prepares the skin for a flawless application, all while keeping clients comfortable with its one-of-a-kind heat infused process. Next, a controlled amount of technologically advanced, engineered-for-heat tanning mist envelops the body and melts into the skin. The system also features scent and color customization and products for pre- and post-application that extend the life of the tan.
“We’re introducing this first ever technology to the sunless industry because we wanted to change the overall sunless experience, making the application process as enjoyable as the results,” says Ricky Croft, vice president of marketing for Sunless Inc. “This new experience is completely designed around heat, including our heat engineered tanning formulas that literally melt into the skin. This added heat prepares the skin by opening the pores and allowing the sunless solution to penetrate as deeply as possible. But it also speeds up the drying-time, so clients are in and out in no time.”
