OPI recently introduced its collection of nail colors inspired by the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Strange Tides.” Always innovative, OPI has just announced that it has partnered with the Miss Universe Organization for the launch of its Miss Universe Collection. Available in September, the collection will feature four new glamorous lacquers which will be unveiled at an exclusive Miss USA event on June 14, 2011, in Las Vegas. Miss USA Rima Fakih and Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete, along with pageant contestants, will be on hand at the private event taking place at Color, A Salon by Michael Boychuck at Ceasars Palace Las Vegas. Synonymous with beauty and glitz, the Miss USA event is the perfect setting to spotlight OPI’s new line. “This collection embodies the pageants’ femininity, grace and glamour, with a real sense of fun shown through these shades,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI executive VP & artistic director. “There is no better place to unveil the Miss Universe Collection than in The City of Lights.” The Miss USA Pageant will be presented live on Sunday, June 19, at 9:00 ET on NBC where Weiss-Fischmann will serve as a judge.
Throughout the month of May, Obagi Medical Products will match donations to Save the Children’s Japan earthquake and tsunami relief fund. Obagi is utilizing Facebook to provide an easy way for people to make donations. For each dollar donated, Obagi will match the contribution and donate the same amount, up to a combined total of $50,000, to Save the Children. This will help provide immediate disaster relief and aid long-term recovery plans to rehabilitate childcare centers and help children return to school in ravaged communities. “The devastation in Japan has affected us all, and as an organization we felt a need to take action,” says Al Hummel, president and CEO of Obagi Medical Products. “We hope that our business partners and users of Obagi products will join us in contributing to Save the Children’s efforts in Japan.”
