Since its inception, Tweezerman has maintained an essential Second Bottom Line program that shares profits with those in need. Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2010, the company continues to give back to numerous humanitarian, environmental, community, and charitable organizations. As part of its milestone anniversary year, Tweezerman launched the 2010 Paw Print Mini Slant Tweezer & Matchbox Itty Bitty Files, which supports the Humane Society of the United States. Tweezerman also continued its passionate commitment to Breast Cancer Awareness in 2010 by donating a portion of proceeds from the Precision In Pink Slant Tweezer initiative to the following national and local Long Island Breast Cancer Charities: CancerCare, Glen Cove C.A.R.E.S., Beth Tortolani Foundation, and the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition. This spring, the company plans to donate a portion of proceeds from the new Reach For The Stars Mini Slant Tweezer and Zip File to Starlight Children’s Foundation, which helps brighten the lives of children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses through entertainment, education, and family activities.
Movies have the ability to inspire ideas, emotions, and even fashion trends. This spring, “Pirates of the Caribbean” lovers with a penchant for colorful polish will be loving OPI’s new Brights collection, featuring six limited-edition nail lacquers and a new Silver Shatter coat formula that creates a shimmering two-texture finish. The new collection is being launched in celebration of “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” and was “inspired by a world filled with mythical mermaids, gleaming treasure, and high-seas adventure,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI executive vice president and artistic director. “With shades ranging from sage and lavender to khaki gray and pastel pink, these colors are evocative of a warm, tropical setting, with a classic nautical influence.” The limited-edition shades will be available in spas and salons in May 2011. Among the innovative new products making their debut at IECSC New York will be the EVOLV Sidekick. Developed by Sunless Inc., it is the first heated sunless airbrushing system, and it delivers a specially formulated, vitamin-enriched, and fully customizable tanning experience.
The EVOLV sunless experience lasts for 20 to 30 minutes and begins with a warm flow of heat that gently prepares the skin for a flawless application, all while keeping clients comfortable with its one-of-a-kind heat infused process. Next, a controlled amount of tanning mist envelops the body and melts into the skin. The system also features scent and color customization and products for pre- and post-application that extend the life of the tan.
“We’re introducing this first ever technology to the sunless industry because we wanted to change the overall sunless experience, making the application process as enjoyable as the results,” says Ricky Croft, vice president of marketing for Sunless Inc. “This new experience is completely designed around heat, including our heat engineered tanning formulas that literally melt into the skin. This added heat prepares the skin by opening the pores and allowing the sunless solution to penetrate as deeply as possible. But it also speeds up the drying-time, so clients are in and out in no time.”
