“I love the holidays. At Montage Laguna Beach, we have many ways to celebrate! We are gearing up for our first inaugural holiday tree lighting ceremony, which is taking place at the resort on November 29. Spa Montage is now offering yoga classes, which include full access to our spa facilities and spa pool for only $40. On a personal note, I focus on balance throughout the holiday season, and I am looking forward to working with our new director of Mind, Body & Yoga Programming, Ashley Turner. She will kick off the New Year with her Resolve to E-volve Yoga Workshop on January 8. Enjoy the season!”—Julie Raistrick, spa director, Spa Montage at Montage Laguna Beach (CA)
For the past five years, I have worked closely with Andrew Jacono, M.D., F.A.C.S., who has written numerous articles for us and enlightened me on myriad topics in the medical spa world. Dr. J’s resume is quite impressive: He is a dual board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon with a practice on Long Island and one Manhattan; the section head of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at North Shore University Hospital Manhasset; assistant clinical professor, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at The New York Eye and Ear infirmary; and so much more. While I could go on and on about his credentials, what I find most impressive is his philanthropic work. Dr. J is the national chairman of Face to Face: The National Domestic Violence Project committee, a project that offers pro bono consultations and surgery to victims of domestic violence, and for the past six years, he has chaired About Face: Making Changes. This annual benefit on Long Island honors those who have made an ongoing commitment to improving the lives of domestic violence survivors, as well as the Long Island community. The eighth annual benefit will take place October 21, 2010 from 7PM to 11 PM at The Carltun in Eisenhower Park, NY. Tickets start at $175, and all proceeds go toward Face to Face.
