Greenhouse Spa To Go Up for Auction

The legendary Greenhouse Spa in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, is going up on the auction block, per an announcement from Douglas Johnson, managing director, of CBRE Auction Services. Opened in 1965, this luxurious property, which has been frequented by celebrities and has been a favorite of first ladies since it debuted, will be sold Nov. 19 2010 at a yet-to-be determined venue. It features a 56,000 square foot building and 5.66 acres of land that could be converted into another type of facility. “Although the facility could continue to operate as a spa, it could also serve as a private rehabilitation center, a place of tranquility and seclusion following plastic surgery, for example,” says Johnson. “The Greenhouse lends itself to a wide array of alternatives, and it represents a rare opportunity to acquire this gem of a property at your price at auction.”

Renowned for its elegance the Greenhouse Spa was built under the direction of Stanley Marcus of Neiman Marcus and underwent a major renovation in 1999. Each of the 37 suites has a private dressing room and bathroom. The facilities also include an indoor pool, fitness center, treatment rooms, two championship tennis courts, a treste-fisnished balcony and much more. To add to its appeal, all of the ultra deluxe furniture will be sold with the property, including lamps and sconces, and the finest drapery and chandeliers.
