I’ll admit it. I have the TV-watching sensibilities of a 16-year-old girl, which is why Gossip Girl is one of my favorite shows. So when I got an invitation to head to Just Calm Down, a boutique day spa in New York City, to try the Queen Bee Manicure and Pedicure, I was so excited. The treatment was created in honor of the show’s Queen Bee, Blair Waldorf, a snooty Upper East Side socialite who is constantly scheming to keep herself at the top of the high society food chain. But the service is anything but exclusive. It’s an inviting and intoxicating session using a variety of FarmHouse Fresh products, which were recently brought into the spa for use in treatments and for retail.
Says to Tara Oolie, spa owner and president, “We love FarmHouse Fresh because it combines seduction with girlish fun, and we wanted to blend their down-to-earth concept of life on the farm with sophisticated Gossip Girl-inspired Manhattan culture which combines lots of shopping and high-maintenance beauty, with mystery, intrigue, jealousy, and romance, topped off with flirtatious socializing over evening cocktails.”
I was so inspired, I called a friend after my treatment and enjoyed a gossip session of my own over drinks while showing off my fabulous fingers and toes. Check out the October issue of American Spa for more on this fun new service.
