Senses New York Salon & Spa Celebrates its Success

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t necessarily get my hair cut as often as I should. In fact, it’s not until my bangs have driven me into a frenzy that I’m finally motivated to even make a hair appointment. Fortunately, Yuval Samburski, a stylist at Senses New York Salon & Spa, didn’t let me get to that point this time. Invited to attend an event at the Fifth Ave. salon and spa to learn about new trends in the industry, I was welcomed by Yuval, who was quick to roll out the red carpet. Not only did he show me around the spacious loft but he also gave me a complimentary blow-dry followed by a much-needed trim. While there, I also met owners Bruce Conroy and Antonio Rosa, who shared their philosophy on running a successful salon and spa. One way they do it this is by giving a sense of ownership to the staff, which was evident from the treatment room doors—each of which bears the name of the esthetician or therapist who uses it. Developing a sense of community, such as welcoming clients in to enjoy a cup of coffee whether they have an appointment or not, is another way Senses is making a name for itself in the neighborhood.
