Fresh Air Fun at Eau Spa by Cornelia in Palm Beach

evergladesBeyond the beaches and the babes, South Florida is also home to the Florida Everglades, a wetlands region that begins just north of Lake Okeechobee and runs through the southern tip of the state. Until March 13, Eau Spa by Cornelia at The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach (FL) is inviting its guests to make a difference while experiencing the beauty of the wild marshes with the Everglades and Eau Spa Getaway (starting at $510 per couple). The day kicks off with an educational tour of the dynamic ecosystem where guests can see the indigenous flora and fauna of the area and even plant a native Cypress tree. After getting their hands dirty, guests are taken back to the resort where they can continue to enjoy the outdoors during lunch for two in the spa’s Self-Centered Garden. An earth-inspired treatment awaits them as they can enjoy a Hot Stone Therapy-enhanced Bamboo Massage. This deep-tissue treatment features essential-oil-soaked bamboo shoots, which are rolled along the body to offer a relaxing massage, and hot stones to melt away muscle tension. This experience gives going au naturel in South Florida a new meaning.

Signing Off: Aquarians

By Guest Blogger | Feb 1, 2010

planetary-book“A spa retreat will allow Aquarians (January 21-February 18), usually connected to information and technology, to unplug. Avant garde and open minded, they’re the ones signing up for the latest spa treatments, even those that others consider too “New-Agey.” Global citizens, Aquarians also appreciate therapies that feature the wise healing ways of other cultures. The Water Bearer also does well with energy-based treatments.”—Stephanie Gailing
