We’ve all heard the expression, “There’s an app for that.” Well, thanks to the new Speed Mapping Skin Analysis application from Dermalogica, there is now one for achieving radiant skin. Developed by Simon Winsall, Dermalogica’s IT manager for global subsidiaries based in the UK, this innovative application helps users identify their top skincare concerns and then provides an individualized product prescription. It is available for free download from iTunes. “Technology is ever-changing, and the IT team at Dermalogica is always seeking ways to engage innovations in order to better support its customers,” says Winsall. “Appealing to different audiences across different platforms is the key to continued success, and Dermalogica is proud to be one of the front runners in the industry to reach the consumer via this medium.”
“The festive season is already in full swing at The Dorchester with guests piling through the doors for a pre-December spruce. Our spa is synonymous with celebrations and getting glammed up, so it’s no surprise that we’ve seen a big increase in clients booking the full works, taking advantage of facials that prepare the skin for party makeup, manis and pedis, and blow dries at Royston Blythe at The Dorchester. We’re also already looking well ahead into 2010. We’ve just taken a booking for a 40th birthday party in May.”—Ann Costelloe, spa manager, The Dorchester Spa (London)
As a hopeless romantic, Valentine’s Day has always been my favorite holiday. And, even though it is still two months away, I think it is never too soon to start planning the perfect way to celebrate being in love. That’s why my heart skipped a beat in excitement when I learned about Mii amo’s Couples: Body and Soul Partners retreat being held at the acclaimed destination spa in Sedona, AZ, Feb. 14th through the 18th. Beyond the clichéd roses and chocolates (neither of which I really enjoy receiving), this four-night journey is designed to help couples deepen their feelings for one another and rekindle the passion in their relationship. Led by Lana Holstein, M.D., and David Taylor, M.D., this exploration of love will include lectures and group meetings helping participants learn new ways to think about important topics such as communication, sex, and intimacy. The retreat, which costs $3,124.80 per person, also includes three meals daily, two 60-minute and two 90-minute spa treatments, and a variety of fitness classes and activities. I can’t imagine a better way to spend my Valentine’s Day.
