In August, spa and salon professionals gathered at the 11th Annual International Congress for Salon and Spa Professionals, hosted by Repêchage’s founders David and Lydia Sarfati. The two-day conference featured discussions on marketing and retailing strategies and better business practices, insight on effectively promoting a spa or salon business, and tips on ways spas and salons can increase awareness for their establishment. A discussion on financial planning explained how spa and salon professionals can better plan for their future and the wellbeing of their employees, including retirement and 401k, employee benefits, life insurance and personal wealth management. The event also included the annual Spa de Beauté Award Night Gala, which was held at New York City’s famed Tavern on the Green. This year’s winners include:
- Day Spa Category: Body Sense Day Spa (Hyannis, MA)
- Skin Care Category: Colonial House Day Spa (North Easton, MA)
- Destination: Tatewari Spa at Villa Del Palmar Flamingos (Mexico)
- Repêchage President’s Awards of Excellence: Three-13 Salon, Spa & Boutique (Atlanta) and Oasis Day Spa (South Weymouth, MA)
“Scorpios (10/24-11/21) are tenacious people with a deep resolve for healing. They are interested in treatments and programs, such as deep tissue massages, boot camp workouts, and detox diets. that others might find too intense; that’s because they understand the benefits of committing to an activity that yields deep regeneration and transformation of their health. They are probing, as they like to understand the full breadth of the experiences in which they engage. Therefore, Scorpio clients may ask many insightful questions about their treatments. Alternatively, they may be reserved, as they like to stay centered in the richness of their personal inner worlds.”—Stephanie Gailing
