pedicure-bombs-clipdSpa-goers looking to satisfy their sweet cravings can indulge in The Spa at St Julien’s (Boulder, CO) seasonal spa treatments. Available through September, clients can indulge in the Mountain Mojito ($130, 75 minutes) body scrub or the Treats for Toes ($65, 45 minutes) pedicure. The Mountain Mojito body scrub features mint from St Julien’s garden and organic sugar, which combine to create a scrub to exfoliate the skin and leave it smooth and hydrated. Post-treatment clients can relax in the lounge with a refreshing mojito cocktail. The Treats for Toes pedicure includes a relaxing foot soak containing St Julien’s cupcake bath bombs. Post-treatment, clients can indulge in handmade petit fours from the chef. “Summer is all about celebrating the sun and looking and feeling your best,” says spa director Candis Ayers. “We designed our new summer treatment specials to invigorate the mind, body, and taste buds, inviting guests to let loose and indulge in something sweet.”

Banyan Tree Mayakoba Spa Offers Guests a Unique Experience Through “The Rainforest”

The Tropical Rainbow Experience Shower

The Tropical Rainbow Experience Shower

Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting Banyan Tree Mayakoba in Mexico’s Riviera Maya, where I spent four days lounging at my private pool outside of my spa villa, eating at the resort’s gourmet restaurants, and taking in the peaceful surroundings. As is expected from the Banyan Tree brand, the property was stunning, the service was impeccable, and the attention to detail was unbeatable throughout the resort, including the Banyan Tree Mayakoba Spa, where I was fortunate enough to enjoy a few treatments. The absolute highlight of my stay was the spa’s Rainforest Experience (times and prices vary, depending on the experience). Designed especially for couples (although it was still thoroughly enjoyable sans partner), the treatment takes spa-goers on a hydrothermal journey from start to finish. The building, which is named The Rainforest, houses different chambers, each offering a unique experience. To determine the best combination of therapies, a Hydrothermal Host works with guests prior to entering The Rainforest to come up with a personal plan for their particular needs. For example, guests can choose to spend time in the Brine Cavern, which features a combination of steam and salt to heat the body up gradually and help improve the circulatory system. Or those looking to relax and detoxify their skin can visit the Herbal Sauna, which features high-humidity steam to stimulate blood circulation while herbal aromas help put guests at ease. There are also three Experience showers–Arctic Mist, Summer Storm, and Tropical Rainbow–each of which provides a unique rain shower experience with the water alternating between hot and cold temperatures. In addition, clients can choose the added option of a body scrub and Vichy shower to enhance their experience. After completing the circuit, guests are invited to relax and unwind in the spa’s Vitality Pool, which features water jets to help further reduce stress and relieve aching muscles. Although it was designed as a romantic couples’ experience, I definitely didn’t need a significant other to discover true love in The Rainforest.
