This past April, Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay, Nuevo Mazatlan (Mexico) introduced The Spa at Emerald Bay, a new16,500-square-foot spa facility. There, guests can indulge in a variety of innovative treatments such as the Cryo-Repairing Facial with Frozen DNA ($250, 80 minutes), the Diamond Magnetic Body Experience ($240, 80 minutes), and Neuro-Aromatic Massage ($10 add-on). Now spa-goers can enjoy the spa for less thanks to the resort’s Stimulus Package, which is available until December 31, and applies to all seven Pueblo Bonito Oceanfront Resorts and Spas. The package offers various added-value incentives and discounts, such as lowered rates, free night stays, spa credits, and more, that are available for a specific period of time. Right now, guests can enjoy 35 percent off standard room rates and kids can stay and eat for free until October 31. It’s a deal that sometimes turns out to be a steal when you consider that it leaves spa-goers with more to spend in the spa.
Although I try to live a healthy lifestyle, it’s not always easy. So when I first heard about the BluePrint Cleanse (BPC) six months ago, it sounded like a great way to rid my body of built-up toxins and give my digestive system a rest without having to disrupt my daily life. The company conveniently packages and delivers six juices per day (customers can choose a one-, three-, or five day cleanse) to a home or business. The juices can also be picked up at several locations in select cities, including Exhale Spa (New York City and Boston), which recently partnered with BPC and is offering a package of three days of juice, three days of core and yoga classes, and the choice of a spa treatment for $295.
I chose the three-day cleanse, which consisted of drinking six juices made from fresh fruits and vegetables daily and abstaining from food. By the third day, I have to admit I felt more energetic, I was sleeping better, my concentration level was up, and, as an added bonus, I even lost weight. Since then, I have been a die-hard BPC fan. So, when I was invited last week to attend Camp BPC, a media day in Southampton, NY, I was thrilled. I got the chance to meet the founders, Zoe and Erica, as well as enjoy an afternoon of swimming, yoga, Pilates, nutritional counseling, massages, and raw food cooking classes. The point of the event was the same point of the cleanse–leading a healthy lifestyle can be fun and easy, especially when you’re not the one in charge of planning. As the BPC motto states, “You Drink. We Think.”
Although I visit my family in Miami often, I never really have the opportunity to travel anywhere else in Florida. This is why I was excited to check out the first East Coast outpost of the world-reknown Golden Door Spa located in the Naples Grande Beach Resort, a modern family-friendly property right on the Gulf Coast, only 2 ½ hours away from Miami.
Considering the size of the resort, which includes more than 400 guest rooms and suites, I was amazed at how quiet and peaceful the Golden Door Spa is. It’s possible to get lost in the soothing Zen-inspired ambience and forget about the bustling resort outside of the spa’s walls. At the heart of the spa village, which is made up of four buildings—including a reception area, couple’s villa, salon, and treatment area—is a lovely outdoor relaxation garden, complete with a whirlpool, reflection pool, platform beds, and cozy chaises. Despite scorching temperatures, this proved to be the perfect place to while the day away after my treatments.
In addition to a pampering four-handed Discreet Indulgence Massage, I experienced a Pure and Powerful Facial, a treatment that will appear on the spa’s new menu, which will be revealed next week. Featuring Skin Authority products, this relaxing 80-minute facial was just the refreshing vitamin-C boost my summer-sapped skin needed.
For more details on the spa, including its soon-to-launch menu, keep an eye out for an upcoming issue of American Spa.
